Historical Publications of the United States Commission on Civil Rights - SuDoc Number List
Reports, hearings and publications produced by the U.S. Commission on
Civil Rights often have a Superintendent of Documents (SuDoc) number associated
with them. This number usually consists of an alphabetic identifier for
the agency (CR for Civil Rights Commission) followed by a series of
numbers that represent both the type of publication, the department within
the agency that produced the publication, and the year or congressional
session the material was produced. Most government publications
indexes, such as the Government Printing Office Monthly Catalog or the
CIS index makes use of this numbering scheme to identify documents. In
addition, many Federal Depository Libraries use this number to arrange
the publications of the Commission on the shelves in their libraries.
