Welcome to the Law Library

The Thurgood Marshall Law Library offers the law school community a wide array of print and electronic resources that are essential for legal research in today's world. As important as the collection and databases are, it is even more critical that research experts be available to provide assistance. The Thurgood Marshall Law Library staff, many of whom hold law degrees in addition to library degrees, teach a variety of basic and advanced courses that cover the strategies for conducting effective legal research. In addition, they have research expertise in a variety of specialized legal subject areas and are available to advise students and other legal researchers on the wealth of resources available to them.

The new library building offers the latest in technology in a facility that is designed to provide space for many different purposes. Among other things, library users can easily find places for quiet study, rooms in which collaboration with colleagues can occur, lounges for relaxation, computers with Internet access, and convenient copying and printing facilities. The two story reading room is paneled in cherry and provides a quiet place for studying in a grand atmosphere. A beautifully furnished reading room at the library entrance houses popular magazines and newspapers in addition to hornbooks relating to law school courses.

Having an outstanding facility, an in-depth research collection of print and electronic sources, and a library staff with a wealth of expertise is a dynamite combination. The primary goal of the library is to support the research and instructional goals of the law school community. We look forward to working with you.
