Law Library Services for Alumni
Maryland Carey Law alumni are always welcome at the Thurgood Marshall Law Library! If you haven’t visited the Law Library recently, here are five reasons you should check us out:
Free Borrowing Privileges. Alumni continue to enjoy borrowing privileges after graduation. After graduation, stop by the Library’s User Services Desk to apply for an alumni borrowing card. With a borrowing card, alumni may borrow up to five circulating items, for 28 days at a time.
We’re Accessible! Alumni are welcome to visit the Law Library 7 days a week during Library Hours, including evenings and weekends. Simply show your government-issued photo identification to the security officer at the main entrance of Maryland Carey Law, 500 W. Baltimore Street.
Free Wi-Fi! Bring your laptop and get online for free with our guest Wi-Fi network, or with an Ethernet cable. If you don’t have a laptop, you can still get online using the Library’s designated Visitor Workstation or our guest computers.
Access Research Databases. Come to the Library to get free access to several subscription databases to help you with your research. Some of the available databases include Westlaw for Public Patrons, Nexis Uni, HeinOnline, Law360, and selected Bloomberg BNA publications like the Tax Management Portfolios.
Get Research Help! After graduation, reference librarians are still available to assist you with your library-related questions. To get help with your research, visit us at the User Services Desk in person, give us a call at (410) 706-6502, or send us an e-mail to law-library @ umaryland.edu.
For more information, please see the Law Library’s Services for Alumni webpage.
We look forward to seeing you!
